On March 6th, join us and the Translational Biology and Engineering Program for an ECHO Discovery Fireside Chat with Dr. Gary Yau!
Dr. Yau is an Eye Physician and Surgeon within the Department of Ophthalmology & Vision Sciences at the University of Toronto. He earned his medical degree from Western University and completed his residency at Queen’s University, followed by a clinical fellowship at Harvard Medical School, specializing in the diagnosis and medical management of retinal disease. He currently leads a funded research program at Sunnybrook Research Institute and serves as a clinical mentor for the Toronto Medventions® Program.
Vitreosonic Inc. is an early-stage medical device company pioneering the use of focused ultrasound as a non-surgical solution for vision loss. Winner of the ECHO 2022 Pitch Competition and a beneficiary of Toronto’s thriving MedTech ecosystem through H2i, Dr. Yau and his team’s technology aims to offers physicians an immediate, sight-saving solution for their patients, decreasing the need for surgery and accelerating vision recovery.
