Sparked Screening, previously named the number one early-stage company by the University of Toronto, offers the first at-home device that screens for risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) using proteins found in saliva. Dr. Buryk-Iggers has built a career dedicated to health equity. She holds a Master’s in biomedical engineering and a PhD in clinical exercise from the University of Toronto – during which she was named top 12 student entrepreneurs in Canada by Enactus. She has further honed her leadership skills through directing health program development in marginalized areas. Dr. Buryk-Iggers is dedicated to supporting student entrepreneurs; she is a coach for the start-up incubator iCUBE, and teaches Healthcare Innovation at the University of Toronto.
