On the Land
TRANSFORM HF’s On the Land is an immersive cultural safety program developed and delivered by Indigenous scholar Dr. Angela Mashford-Pringle in collaboration with Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers.
The multi-day program invites trainees, researchers, and clinicians to learn about relationality, respect, and responsibility in health and research from Indigenous perspectives. Participants have the unique opportunity to learn directly from Indigenous teachers, gaining a deeper understanding of the cultural, historical, and relational contexts that shape Indigenous health.
Benefits of Land-Based Learning
Encourages new ways of learning and the appreciation of diverse worldviews
Provides a grounding environment for contemplating emotionally heavy topics
Deepens relationships with one another and the land through shared living and time outdoors

- Build friendships.
