Research Seminar Series: Point-of-Care Diagnostics in Heart Failure

In the second session of our new Research Seminar Series, hear from researcher and industry partner perspectives on point-of-care diagnostics in heart failure care.

Moderated by TRANSFORM HF trainee Anthony Yong, we’re thrilled to be joined by Dr. Leyla Soleymani and Dr. Stephanie Buryk-Iggers for an inspiring conversation on transforming research into real-world impact.

Research Spotlight Session

Prepare to be inspired! Catch the latest research from TRANSFORM HF members.

First, we’ll hear from Dr. Sophia Yue Li (Staff Scientist at KITE Research Institute) who will share findings from a study examining thermoregulation in patients at varying risk of heart failure.

Next, Dr. Isaac Sungjae Chang (Biomedical Engineer and Post-doctoral Fellow at Mount Sinai Hospital) will discuss his research developing and refining a non-wearable three-dimensional ballistocardiography system for passive cardiac monitoring.

Lastly, Dr. Kristina Kokorelias (Translational Scientist at Sinai Health and UHN) will present a systematic review and meta-analysis examining heart failure among older adults experiencing homelessness, highlighting prevalence, comorbidities, and implications for tailored, equitable cardiovascular care.
